University of Alberta, Physical Therapy Grad Class 2010a

In November 2010, the University of Alberta will graduate our Master’s in Physical Therapy class. Since admission to the program in September, 2008, we have begun the long road of fundraising for our graduation ceremony. The program is a continuous, 26-month curriculum, with various placements in clinics and hospitals across Alberta, Canada and even internationally. Our class consists of 77 students from across Canada, all of whom have completed undergraduate degrees prior to admission. The program is one of the best in the country and is based out of Corbett Hall on the University’s Campus at the corner of 112th Street and 82nd Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta.

Cloning vs Copying

When creating a new item, you have a few choices. One of the most obvious is creating an item from scratch. The other two options can be obtained by reviewing an item that already exists. A question we often get is “What is the difference between Copying and Cloning?” Well, we’re here to tell you!

Copying an item creates a new item based on the one you just copied. It duplicates the item completely and leaves you on the page for the new item. From there, you can edit the item you’ve just created via copying!

Cloning an item is a bit different. When you clone an item, you create a relationship between the new item and the parent item. If you cloned an item four times, changing the parent item would change those four cloned items as well.

Setting Up Your Website Payments Pro API

By setting up a Web Payments Pro account with Paypal, you can integrate your check out process with Auctions à la Carte!

To start, we need to have our Paypal username and password. If you don’t have an account, sign up for Web Payments Pro (Canada or the United States). This may take a few days to get approval from Paypal, so make sure you set your account up two weeks in advance so that you’re ready to go once your Auction starts! Once we have an account signed up for Web Payments Pro, we can log in. Now that we’re logged in, Paypal should put you on the Account page. On that page, you will see the ‘Profile’ submenu item.

Click on the Profile link in the Account submenu.

Click on the API Access link under Account Information.

On the Profile page, you’ll see three columns with links underneath them. We want the first one labeled ‘Account Information’. About halfway down, there will be a link called ‘API Access’.

Once clicked, it’ll bring us to a page with only two options! Option Two, on the right hand side, is the one that we want. There is a link all the way at the bottom of Option Two’s colored box that says ‘View API Certificate’.

This helpful page gives us the username, password, and signature for our API. These are the three items we need to finish setting up our auction’s payment account. Make sure you do not close this window.

In a new window, navigate to the management area of your Auctions à la Carte site. Click on the ‘Settings’ menu item in the main navigation. On the ‘Auctions Settings’ page, there will be a button on the right hand side labeled ‘Edit Auction Settings’. This setting page contains the Payment Account header, and underneath that you can find the button to add a payment account!

Transfer the information over!

This New Payment Account page is where those three bits of information from Paypal go! Go back to the paypal tab in your browser and copy-paste the information. When you’re finished click on the button that says ‘Add Payment Account’.

And we’re done!

Airdrie Edge Gymnastics Club Auction

The Airdrie Edge Gymnastics Club’s online auction is designed to help raise money for our new 25,000 square foot gymnastics club located at Genesis Place. We will be moving into this new facility in December 2009. All proceeds from this auction will be going to the cost of our new home, and the cost of the new equipment we will need to purchase.
